A Census is an official enumeration(counting) of the Poulation which is held after a period of time and helps us to know the population of a Particular country.

Census is very necessary for any country because from the census information the government have to act.If there is more birth rate then there will be need of better education facilities,if death rates are high then there will be need of the better health facilities and if the migration rates are high then there should be need of better living conditions.As Above we have seen that there are three important factors of population i.e.,Birth,Death,Migration.Also census is having information of all these factors in a country.

Census of India.

India is one of the largest countries of the world.It is having the population of 1210 Peoples( As on 2011).Not only the peoples,india is also very rich in animal and plant diversity.In india there is a population density of 382 peoples/sq. km.

Indian state uttarpradesh has highest population 199 millions which is 17% of india's total population.On the other hand the sikhism has lowest population of 0.6millions of people,also lakshdweep is having the population of only 65 thousand peoples.India is very rich in young population.Indian population comprises 59.7% from age of 15-59 yrs,34.4% below age 15 yrs and 5.9% of peoples above59 yrs.(Note:A census was first held in 1872 in india)
